Squint Eyed Spider
The Squint-eye Spider, one of the class
of garden spiders known as sheet-weavers,
lives in buildings, spinning very large,
somewhat loose irregular webs in cellars
and dark areas, or under patios, benches,
and other places where there is minimal
light.. It has a thin, light brown body
about a quarterinch long, and such long,
incredibly slender legs that it is often
mistaken for a daddy long legs. The mother
transports the eggs in a thin transparent
cocoon until the young garden spiders come
out. She lays head down on the web and,
by leaping up and down, vibrates it to further
entangle insects that stumble into it.
