Hobo Garden Spider
The north western brown spider or hobo garden
spider (Sci. name: Tegenaria agretis) is well
known inteh Pacific Northwest and is also
quite common in the state of Utah. Spider
bites by this garden spider are becoming recognized
more often in California, which may be due
to the fact that the spider is becoming better
known. The hobo garden spider often causes
a bite that leaves an oozing, slow-to-heal
wound. Bites from this garden spider are frequently
and mistakenly thought to be brown recluse
garden spider bites. Keep the wound completely
clean and prevent anyinfection. If the bite
becomes infected or does not heal,
see a doctor.
